Reading your result
After tailoring, your new resume sits next to your original. Each line we changed has a mark, and pointing at it shows where it came from in your resume and why it changed.
The three marks#
A mark tells you what happened to a line. Lines with no mark are the same as in your original.
| Mark | What it means | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Reworded | The same fact, written closer to the job post. | The numbers and dates match yours. |
| Added | Something from elsewhere in your resume, or from an answer you gave on the Gaps tab. | You would say it in an interview. |
| Removed | Cut because it doesn't help with this job. It stays in your original. | Nothing you need was cut. |
Why a line changed#
Point at or tap any marked line. A note opens inside the resume with the line from your original and one sentence on the reason, such as the requirement in the post it answers.
Reworded Managed 14 carriers across 3 regions, cutting late deliveries by 22%.
The original line said "worked with shipping partners". The post asks for carrier management twice.
The Reasoning tab lists the same notes in one place, with the requirement each change answers.
Filling a gap#
The Gaps tab lists what the job asks for that your resume doesn't show. If you have done it, you can add it.
- Open the Gaps tab and pick a gap.
- Write what you did in your own words, or start from one of the suggestions.
- The line appears in the resume with the Added mark, so you can see it in place.
- Leave a gap empty if you haven't done it. You can still apply.
Lines you add are remembered for your next tailored resume. You can edit or forget them on Your resume.
Asking for a different version#
Under the resume there is a box for custom instructions, up to 1,000 characters. Ask for a shorter version, a different first line or plainer words, and the resume is written again from your resume only. Instructions can't add experience you don't have.
Two rewrites come with each tailored resume. One more credit buys 3 more.
Downloading#
Before you download, we copy the text back out of your PDF and confirm each line came through in order. That is the read-back.
| Format | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Sending to employers. It uses a one-column print layout. | |
| Word (.docx) | Editing further by hand. |
| Markdown, plain text | Pasting into application forms. |
You can also have the file written in Spanish, Portuguese, French or German. Tailoring runs in your resume's own language first, and a translated line whose numbers changed is dropped.
cvagent.ai rewrites from what is in your resume and your answers. It can still get a line wrong. Read each change before you send it, because you are the one who answers for it in an interview.
