A Jobscan alternative with no subscription
Jobscan and cvagent.ai both help you fit a resume to a job, in different ways and at very different prices. This page says plainly what each does, what each costs, and when Jobscan is the better choice.
What Jobscan does
Jobscan compares your resume with a job post and gives you a match rate, a list of keywords and findings about how an applicant tracking system may read it. Paid plans add AI rewriting, a LinkedIn profile optimizer, a cover letter generator and a job tracker.
What cvagent.ai does
You upload your resume once and paste a job post. cvagent.ai lists what the post asks for, marks which of those your resume shows, and rewrites your resume for that job using only what's in it. Every change is shown next to your original, anything it can't trace back to your resume is flagged, and the requirements you don't show are listed as gaps instead of being added. You download a PDF or a Word file, and it reads the PDF back the way a parser does to tell you whether every line came through.

How cvagent.ai is different
No score
Jobscan gives you a match rate. We don't, because there is no standard score employers use and most applicant tracking systems don't reject resumes on one. We list which of the job's requirements your resume shows and which it doesn't, and show how many of the post's own terms your resume uses before and after tailoring.
We write the tailored version, from your resume only
Instead of a list of keywords to add, you get a rewritten resume for that job. It only uses what is in your resume, flags any wording it can't trace back to it, and shows every change next to your original.
You pay per resume, once
Your first tailored resume is free, including the download. Then it's $2.99 for one, $9.99 for five or $19.99 for twenty. There's no subscription, nothing renews, and what you buy doesn't expire.
When Jobscan is the better choice
- You want a match rate and keyword report to work from, and you'd rather edit the resume yourself.
- You want a LinkedIn profile review, a cover letter generator or a job tracker in the same place.
- You're applying to many jobs in a short burst and want unlimited scans for a month.
cvagent.ai doesn't build a resume from scratch, write cover letters or track applications. It needs a resume to start from, and it does one job with it.
Try it on one job
The quickest way to compare is to try both on the same job post. The free resume check needs no account and saves nothing, and your first tailored resume is free. For more on the method, see how to tailor your resume to a job description.
